The unique image catalog is growing too (+72%): this mainly signals that new visual clusters are appearing. A visual cluster is one same scam image plus all its micro-variants (re-crops, filters, retouches); when the unique count climbs this much, new visuals are being launched, not just spin-offs of the old ones.

🆕 Update: "3-image" combo coverage​

Scammers split their visual into several combined formats to fool detection: 4 images at first, then 2 images last month (see the "2-image"), and now a 3-image combo. We spotted this new format during a spike of over 2,000 images intercepted within minutes.

This 3-image combo also arrived with a new visual cluster: a brand-new scam visual not yet in our catalog. We covered both at once, and ScamLens now recognizes this combo in full, with no action needed on your part. Each image is still processed in ~400 ms, before most members even have time to see it.

The volume of deleted images has more than quintupled: the extended coverage now catches images that were escaping analysis for technical reasons related to the Discord CDN. The unique image catalog only grows by 32% because attackers keep cycling through a few visual clusters (re-crops, filters, retouches).

A "2-image" variant (instead of 4) has appeared during the period; ScamLens covers it, and several spikes of ~2,000 deletions per minute have already been intercepted. Each image is processed in ~400 ms, before most members have even had time to see it.

⏱️ Automatic 24h timeout​

We now apply a 24-hour automatic timeout to any account flagged by ScamLens. This gives the legitimate owner (almost always a hijacking victim) time to regain control and cut off the attackers' access.

🍯 The RaidProtect HoneyPot​

A Discord HoneyPot (or "trap channel") is a channel where no legitimate member is supposed to post. Hacked accounts and spam bots, on the other hand, dump their payload (images, links, mentions, pings) into every channel without filtering, including the trap. Any message landing there triggers an automatic sanction, regardless of its content.

RaidProtect now ships its own HoneyPot. With /settings → HoneyPot, the bot creates the channel, places it at the top of the server, and posts a translated warning message.

Why the RaidProtect HoneyPot rather than another?​

Our HoneyPot is directly connected to ScamLens:

• ScamLens runs first. If an image posted in the trap is already known, it's deleted and the HoneyPot does not trigger: it lets ScamLens act.
• The HoneyPot enriches ScamLens. Any new image caught in a trap channel feeds our catalog, which then blocks the wave across the 355,000 protected servers.

What each one covers​

• ScamLens = known scam images, deleted with 24h timeout.
• HoneyPot = everything else: link spam, text raids, mass mentions, bots, and new images not yet identified.

ScamLens is active by default. Enabling the HoneyPot doesn't break anything, it just closes the blind spots.

🔍 ModView: everything about a member, in a single command​

No more juggling between multiple commands to figure out a member's situation. The new /modview command opens a centralized moderation view: a complete recap of the member, with all the quick actions accessible directly.

• Their sanction history, with up-to-date statuses.
• The internal moderation note shared by the staff.
• Their last deleted message from the past hour, if any.

And above all, quick actions: sanction the member directly from the view (ban, kick, mute, jail, warn…) or edit their note, without having to retype a command or switch windows.

Two complementary commands ship alongside ModView:

• /note: add a private note to a member, visible only to staff. Perfect for sharing context between moderators without cluttering the sanction history.
• /snipe: retrieve the most recent deleted messages of a channel or a member from the past hour.

⚖️ Richer sanctions​

Several additions refine day-to-day sanction handling:

• New /softban command: bans then unbans a member. Their messages are deleted, but they can come back. Perfect for cleaning up after a hacked account.
• silent option on every sanction command: prevents RaidProtect from sending a private message to the target, when you want to handle the situation separately.
• delete-messages parameter on /ban and /tempban: pick directly the duration of message history to delete at the time of the ban.
• "Replace with the Jail role" mode: the Jail sanction can now remove all of a member's roles during the jail and automatically restore them on release.
• AutoMod → role-based mute conversion (Premium public beta): timeouts applied by Discord's AutoMod beyond the configured threshold are automatically converted to a role-based mute, for full consistency with RaidProtect's system.

Other quieter improvements: better acknowledgment tracking for sanction DMs (received, DMs closed, expired, silent), server invite button in the notification DMs after a kick, softban or temporary ban, the ability to add a reason to /sanctions delete, and to fully disable sanctions on a server.

❓ Why a Premium?​

RaidProtect is developed and maintained by a company whose revenue comes from other projects. From the start, it has been funding the entire bot: servers, bandwidth, development, maintenance. In practice, it's revenue generated by other clients, on other work, that pays for the service you use for free.

We made that choice because we believe in the project. But a bot funded by a budget that doesn't depend on it is a bot whose development moves forward when that budget allows. The goal of Premium is to change that: make RaidProtect self-sufficient. A self-funded project is one that can accelerate development, strengthen stability, and grow without depending on anyone.

ScamLens is RaidProtect's anti-scam module. It automatically analyzes images sent on your Discord server and removes those identified as fraudulent — no configuration required. More than one in three analyzed images is fraudulent.

Unlike the initial waves that manifested as massive, concentrated spikes over 1-hour windows, activity over a month is much more spread out over time. Detections remain numerous, but distributed continuously rather than clustered into a few intense rushes.

Why do image scams appear on my Discord server?​

These images are sent by hacked Discord accounts. Scammers compromise accounts, then use them to spam as many servers as possible at once. Your server is not specifically targeted — it's part of the batch. A single hacked account can reach dozens of servers in seconds, which is why automatic removal is essential.

How do I protect my Discord server against scams?​

Add RaidProtect to your server. ScamLens is active by default and automatically removes images detected as fraudulent, with no configuration required.

Do scam images evolve to bypass detection?​

Yes, techniques change regularly. ScamLens is continuously updated to keep up with these evolutions.

❓ The Problem​

An admin account gets compromised. Within seconds: mass bans, deleted channels, exposed data. Even with Discord 2FA enabled, a token stolen by malware or a phishing page is enough to bypass that protection — the attacker is already logged in, 2FA is never prompted.

Discord offers no mechanism to verify who is actually behind a role with sensitive permissions. Anyone with access to the account can act with full powers, with nothing to stop them.

A single channel deleted through an admin account hack is already too many.

🔐 The Solution: Authentication Manager​

With Authentication Manager (AM), roles with sensitive permissions are no longer permanently assigned — they are granted only after an additional layer of authentication. Combined with temporary sessions that expire automatically, the exposure window is drastically reduced: roles are automatically removed at the end of the session.

Even if an attacker steals a Discord account, they cannot use the server's destructive permissions: the role simply isn't there, and obtaining it requires an authentication they don't have.

Each method corresponds to a grade (E to S). You choose the minimum grade required per role: an internal channel can settle for a PIN, while an admin role will require a passkey.

⏱️ Temporary Sessions​

Roles are no longer permanent. Each authentication opens a time-limited session (configurable up to 8 hours). When it expires, the role is automatically removed.

⚙️ Manager System​

Grant admin permissions to a member without giving them access to the authentication system. Managers must authenticate themselves and can only manage roles below their ceiling, preventing backdoor creation and privilege escalation.

📋 Audit Logs and Sessions​

Every authentication, role assignment, and action is recorded directly in the bot. Unlike Discord logs, no one can delete them — even a compromised admin cannot erase their tracks.

🛡️ Spam details​

Two massive spam waves occurred on February 14, 2026Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 12:00:00 AM, between 12:00:00 AMSaturday, February 14, 2026 at 12:00:00 AM and 12:26:31 PMSaturday, February 14, 2026 at 12:26:31 PM. Over 2,500 compromised accounts were used to send more than 10,000 messages containing this type of image. These figures only represent what was observed across the 340,000 servers protected by RaidProtect — with Discord having several million active servers, the actual scale of this attack can be estimated at several hundred thousand messages across the platform.

The scam, known as "crypto images", involves mass-sending 4 images urging users to buy fraudulent cryptocurrencies, in as many channels as possible.

Given the high volume of fraudulent messages, we activated the Deletion mode of ScamLens ahead of schedule — initially introduced in Learning mode in update 3.3.1. This module analyzes images sent on your servers and now automatically deletes those identified as fraudulent (no configuration needed).

What's next?​

The Sanction mode will be activated soon: in addition to deleting fraudulent images, ScamLens will automatically apply a one-day timeout to the sender. We chose not to ban these accounts, as they are almost exclusively hacked accounts — a ban would penalize the actual account owner. The timeout neutralizes the threat immediately, giving the owner time to regain control of their account.

🔒 New "Jail" Sanction​

Isolate a disruptive member without banning them with the new Jail "Prison" system. The member is confined to a dedicated channel, with no access to the rest of the server:

• /jail: Jail a member immediately.
• /tempjail: Temporarily jail a member for a set duration.
• /unjail: Release a member at any time.
• Flexible configuration: Set the Jail role and information channel directly via /settings.

Jail lets you handle sensitive situations while still being able to communicate with the member before making a final decision.

🔇 Role-based Mute: Beyond Discord Timeout​

Discord timeout is convenient, but restrictive: it blocks all interactions for the member, including buttons and menus. A timed-out member cannot view their sanctions, open a ticket, or interact with anything on the server. And its duration is limited to 28 days.

The new Role-based Mute solves these issues:

• Beyond a configurable threshold, the bot automatically assigns a Mute role instead of Discord timeout. The member can no longer write, but retains the ability to use buttons and menus.
• The /timeout and /untimeout commands become /mute and /unmute with smart behavior: below the threshold, classic Discord timeout is used.
• New [force_timeout] parameter to force Discord timeout regardless of the duration.

• Context menu: Sanction a member with a simple right-click on their profile, no command needed.

Thanks to this update, you can now assign a role as soon as a member adds your server tag to their Discord profile. And if the tag is removed, the role is automatically taken away. Convenient, efficient, and 100% automated.

Which bot can automate roles based on Discord tags?​

With RaidProtect, simply configure a role based on the Discord tag. As soon as a member adds the tag to their Discord profile, the role is automatically assigned. If the tag is removed, the role disappears as well.

How do I add a role with a Discord tag?​

1. Install RaidProtect on your server.
2. Go to the tag-based roles configuration.
3. Define the role to assign when a user has the guild tag.
4. Save your changes.

Why a beta program?​

Developing a bot like RaidProtect involves many tests, adjustments, and checks. By opening this beta program, we have two main goals:

• Test new features in real-world conditions.
• Get direct feedback from the community to continually improve the user experience.

And the best part? Premium features are included for free on selected servers during the testing phase. 😍

What’s included right now?​

The beta program gives you early access to several new features already available in the test version:

• 🧵 Slash commands & button interactions: for a modernized user experience.
• 🌍 Internationalization: the bot now speaks both French and English.
• 📢 New /report command: easily report problematic behavior.
• 🛡️ Ignore roles or users in antispam: for more flexibility.
• 🔒 Option to rename channels via /lock: customize your security.
• 🔧 Stability improvements: fewer bugs, more reliability.

These features will be rolled out publicly after being validated by beta testers.

Who can participate?​

Anyone can apply, as long as you manage an active Discord server and are willing to test new features. A few prerequisites:

• Regular activity is required.
• You must keep your DMs open so we can contact you.
• In case of prolonged inactivity, we may revoke your beta access.

Over time, maintaining a bot like RaidProtect became increasingly complicated. Between Discord’s changes, API updates, and growing demands, it was becoming harder and harder for Baptiste to keep RaidProtect up to date while ensuring its stability and effectiveness. Rather than let RaidProtect shut down, he chose to entrust the project to us.

Our team has taken over, bringing the resources and expertise needed to meet the technical and organizational challenges of RaidProtect. Our goal is simple: to improve and modernize the bot while staying true to what it has always been.

The features you rely on aren’t going anywhere. We’re keeping the same philosophy, and we just want to make it better without disrupting your habits. Security and reliability remain at the heart of the project.

🔄 A technical overhaul for better performance​

The bot has been completely rewritten to be faster, more stable, and better suited to Discord’s changes. This overhaul wasn’t just an improvement — it was a necessity: with the new version of Discord’s API, the old version of the bot simply would no longer function. This update also makes it easier for us to add new features.

One of the major benefits of this takeover is that we can finally invest time and resources into making RaidProtect even more effective. Here are some of the upcoming improvements:

Who are you and why you?​

More than just a team, we’re a group of friends who have been combining passion and expertise to build online communities since 2017. We also launched Slash FR, a French-speaking community focused on Discord and its best practices. RaidProtect naturally fits into this ecosystem.

We understand that the idea of a company behind the project may worry some people. To be honest, yes, we will have to fund RaidProtect, because running a bot at this scale is expensive. But we don’t want to limit the bot or turn everything into paid features. All current features will remain free, and premium options will be available for those who want advanced tools.

Why is your agency taking over RaidProtect?​

Our agency specializes in managing Discord servers and developing bots. The team wanted to invest in a major project, and RaidProtect perfectly matched that ambition.

What’s the link with Slash FR?​

Slash FR is a community we created to bring together Discord enthusiasts. RaidProtect naturally fits in, but it remains an independent project.

Will the current RaidProtect team change?​

No, most of the community team is continuing the journey, supported by new members from Slash FR. Baptiste himself will still provide occasional support on the project.

Will the bot become paid?​

All current features will remain free. However, some new advanced features may be offered through a premium subscription to cover maintenance and development costs.

Will the design and branding of RaidProtect change?​

No, RaidProtect’s visual identity will stay the same. However, the website will be updated to better reflect the project’s evolution.

Will your team develop other bots?​

The acquisition of RaidProtect is part of a broader plan to eventually offer other tools for Discord servers. However, the current priority is to optimize and perfect RaidProtect.
